African American woman who is a financial wizard is fired from a prestigious firm and mysteriously unable to find another job in her hometown. Monica Paris, an experience financial broker who has been with the company; Rogers & Peete for over 15 years, assist in the training of young vibrant white male brokers joining the firm. Her business attribute were well known throughout the industry as being well respected, however, her personal life is quite the opposite. When Monica receives a phone call about the death of Ruby Foster who was a family friend to Monica’s dead mother, Monica’s father, whom everyone calls Father James worst nightmare becomes a reality when they are confronted at the wake by Ruby’s son, Max.
